Last summer I posted photos on Twitter/Yfrog of people there were out my personal comfort zone. I used the iPhone app called SneakyPix for .99 after several other "free" and paid apps failed.
The only issue I currently have is minor. There is a snap sound and it does defeat the purpose if the unsuspecting target can hear the click of a camera. You must flip the sound off on your phone on the left. But, some things are worth the trouble. It does all the work for you after that small detail. Just flip off the sound, open the app, tap it and go catch some mullets and butt cracks.
App options
Fake "in call screen"
Proximity sensor enabled, screen goes black when held up to ear
Phone vibrates with each photo snap
Check out the app on itunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sneakypix/id345481980?mt=8
