If you are a developer trying to make an app for reading comics, Geeky Zombie strongly suggests you take a look at the top of the class competition out there, Darkhorse. We have 2-3 other comic apps for more of a variety of comics available in one place, but they never beat the work of Darkhorse. The app is FREE. There are many FREE comics available within. Pricing varies, but in general it is cheaper than paper comics and in most cases over half off. This is not recommended for iPhones.

This is simply cool. You can view the whole page and swipe to go to the next page or you can double tap and swipe from bubble to bubble. It is brilliant and it is never too small either way you go.

The above comic is Mass Effect. Yes, the video game. It is the first one released and we are very excited to read more as they come out.

Worried about taking up too much space? No problem. You can archive your free and purchased comics at anytime and go back to them. Darkhorse Comics is offering all kinds of neat deals on their blog for free comics in this app via scavenger hunts and contests too.

You can download numerous apps on your iPad for social networking on FaceBook, Twitter and for sharing photos on Flickr and Instagram. But how about a app that has everything in one and it looks like a well laid out magazine? 

FlipBoard for iPad has eveything, all in one. Add all your social, photo, blogging sites and even popular magazines and it lays it out as pretty as a picture. You can update and upload to all the sites from within the app. I can't express how great it flows with finger flip technology, just like you were flipping through a book.

We are big Twitter fans and when we saw that it actually has the articles people tweet within the app ready to read, we were sold. The same with FaceBook and all the other social sites. 

Google reader is also included so you can easily keep up with your favorite blogs. This app is FREE. Did we mention that?
